The ExcelsiusGPS Robotic System

Physicians Surgical Hospitals is proud to offer the ExcelsiusGPS robotic system for patients suffering from back pain. The ExcelsiusGPS is a revolutionary alternative to traditional spine surgery and is clinically-proven to reduce back pain while lowering risk for surgical site infection and complications.

ExcelsiusGPS is designed to improve accuracy and optimize patient care by pairing robotics with navigation. During surgical spine procedures, medical images are taken and imported into ExcelsiusGPS. Surgeons use these images to determine the size and placement of implants and create a robotically guided strategy based on your unique anatomy.

ExcelsiusGPS can be used for back injuries, surgical correction of spinal deformities, and relieving pressure caused by one or more compressed nerve roots in the spinal column.

MAKO SmartRobotics

Physicians Surgical Hospital is proud to announce that our surgical campuses — Quail Creek Surgical Hospital and Panhandle Surgical Hospital — are the first facilities in the Texas Panhandle to offer the MAKO SmartRobotics™ system for total and partial hip and knee replacements.

The MAKO system offers increased accuracy during joint replacement procedures, resulting in better patient outcomes. It is estimated that the need for total knee replacements will increase by 189% over the next decade.

If you need total or partial hip or knee replacement surgery, ask your doctor if the MAKO SmartRobotics procedure is right for you.

The Da Vinci Xi system

This state-of-the-art robotics platform is equipped with three components that communicate with one another throughout your procedure:

  1. The surgeon console: This is where the surgeon is stationed to control the robotic arms and instruments.
  2. The patient cart: This part holds the instruments and camera
  3. The vision cart: This provides the surgeon with 3D imaging of the surgical site.

The surgeon accesses the surgical site through the patient’s abdomen or chest. The robotic platform’s 3D imaging magnifies the view of the site by 10X the view of the human eye. This magnification allows the surgeon to precisely guide the four dexterous robotic arms.

The Da Vinci Xi can be used for the following surgery types:

  • Gynecologic
  • Urologic
  • Thoracic
  • Cardiac
  • General surgeries
